I don’t know if you know this yet, but breast pumps are expensive. Let’s take a look.
It’s absolutely crazy, right?
Keep reading to find out how to get a breast pump for free.
Can I Really Get a Breast Pump for Free?
Yes! Under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) which was passed in 2010, insurance companies were required to cover breastfeeding support and supplies. This translates to lactation specialist support, breast pumps and accessories. However, it was not clear as to which pumps were to be covered and whether or not it included warranties, extra pumping replacement parts, breastmilk storage bags, ect. So it’s important to find out the details of your insurance company.
Old Cumbersome Way of Getting a Breast Pump Through your Insurance
Typically you would have to choose the pump you wanted, call your insurance to see if they covered it (not all pumps are covered 100%), pick another one if it wasn’t covered, then go to your doctor to get a prescription, send in the paperwork to a third-party company. After your delivery, you would call either the company or insurance to tell them you had the baby and would wait about a week or longer for your new pump to come in. Some companies delivered to you, others would make you go to the store to pick it up.
How’s that for confusing, time-consuming, and difficult? And who wants to go to a store just one week after having a baby? Not me.
But, I recently found out about a company that has made this process of getting a free breast pump extremely simple.
New and Innovative Way to Get a Breast Pump for Free Through your Insurance
It’s called Aeroflow Breastpumps.
I seriously wish I knew about them when before I had all my kids. It would have made the whole process much smoother.
Here’s how Aeroflow works:

Your Breastpump Specialist is also responsible for contacting your doctor for a prescription, billing your insurance company, and making sure your pump is shipped to you in a timely manner (based on your insurance time frame).
TONS of resources. These are my favorite resources they offer:
Excellent Customer Support. While I haven’t personally spoken to one of their Breastpump Specialists, I am big on reviews and the amount of positive reviews is very intriguing. There are thousands of VERY satisfied mamas who had gone through this simple process and rave about it.
